Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani Peruvian Muay Thai fighter, mixed martial artist who currently is a competitor within the UFC flyweight division. She is the older sister of her fellow UFC fighter and ex- UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko's professional career in combat sport began with her debut as a Muay Thai athlete. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title after which she defeated Suzane Mller with a majority vote. Antonina Shevchenko took home another medal in 2007 and a bronze medal in 2008, and a gold in 2011, and was crowned the IFMA Amateur World Muay Thailand Champion in the year 2016. Antonia started her professional career in 2003 and took home the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship in 2012 the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship in 2016 and the WMC as well as the Phoenix FC World Championships in 2016. Antonina's most recent fight took place against Isa Tidblad-Keskikangas in the Phoenix Fighting Championship. The winner was a an unanimous vote. Antonina Schevchenko broke her professional MMA records in 2002 when she took on Anara Bazanova at KFK Cup in Kyrgystan. She won the fight via second-round TKO and then won the next 2 fights in the WXF: X-Impact World Championships 2003 to amass an overall record of three-three. Shevchenko took a short break from MMA and focused on her kickboxing. Shevchenko made her comeback in 2017 when she fought Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko won against Anissa by unanimous decision before she fought Valerie Domergue in Phoenix FC 4. She resigned from the organization and started Dana White's Contender Series 2018. Shevchenko wrestled Jaimelene Nievera as part of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Antonina knocked out Nievera using her superior striking abilities in the final clinch through knees to the body. Antonina's UFC contract was re-extended in the wake of this win. Antonina took part in her UFC debut during the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale, against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modeafferi in the unanimous verdict. But, she was unable to win her next fight due to a split verdict. Antonina has recovered from her loss, defeating Lucie Pudilova in the UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler by a rear-naked choke submission. This earned her the prize of fight-of-the-night. Shevchenko has a record of 1-2 during her subsequent three matches which included a win over Ariane Lipski and being defeated by Katlyn Clarkagian and Andrea Lee. Antonina was defeated by Casey O'Neill by second-round TKO during UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
